RESTORING PROCEDURES

Restoring is the process of rejuvenating ultra high speed floor finishes with a restorer type of material.  This material can be the floor finish itself, cut to some degree with water and mopped on the floor.  Or, it may be a fully formulated secondary product which is also diluted with water and mopped on the floor.  After drying the restorer is then burnished.  The purpose of the restorative process is to remove scuff marks, restore gloss and add thermoplasticity to the film.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU RESTORE AND USE MAINTAINER?

  Equipment needed:   Chemicals needed:
  1. Mop Bucket and Wringer
  2. Plastic Trash Liner
  3. Wet Mop and Handle
  4. Wet Floor Signs
  5. Ultra High Speed Burnisher (1500+ rpm)
  6. Burnishing Pad
  1. RESTORER
  Procedures:

Restoring Instructions
  1. Dust mop the floor using the dry cleaning procedures.
  2. Position wet floor signs.
  3. Always wear protective goggles and gloves when handling cleaning chemicals.
  4. Wet clean the floor by damp mopping, wet mopping or automatic scrubbing
  5. Line the mop bucket with trash liner to eliminate the possibility of contamination and to make clean up easier.
  6. Fill the mop bucket with RESTORER solution following instructions on the product label.
  7. Dip wet mop (applicator) into finish and tamp out excess in the wringer.  Do not wring out the wet mop (applicator), it should be wet but not dripping.
  8. Apply RESTORER to the floor in an overlapping figure 8 motion.
  9. Allow to dry (usually 20-30 minutes).  Floors are dry when the coat is no longer tacky to the touch.  Dry time will vary with temperature, humidity and air flow conditions.
  10. Burnish the restored area with high speed burnisher equipped with appropriate burnishing pad.
  11. Dust mop the floor to remove any loose debris.
  12. Remove wet floor signs.
  13. Clean all equipment and return to storage area.

Professional Maintenance Tips:
  • Always wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
  • Do not apply Restorer solution next to the baseboards or in any area that the burnisher cannot reach.
